“The Premier Athlete” has taken on a larger role within All Elite Wrestling.
According to a new report from Sean Ross Sapp via Fightful Select, AEW star Tony Nese has been working behind the scenes in All Elite Wrestling as a coach and agent.
“The Premier Athlete” was listed in an agenting capacity for this past Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, and when Fightful inquired with AEW sources, they were told that Nese has actually been serving in the role for quite some time, but it just hadn’t been publicly known until now.
Nese, who has seen slightly less in-ring action over the last two years, remains an active performer in Ring of Honor, often teaming with longtime partner Ariya Daivari – where the two are “undefeated” in 2025.
The 20-year veteran has competed all over the wrestling world, including stints in the independent scene, TNA, WWE, and now AEW. Known for his athleticism and technical prowess, Nese’s transition into a backstage role adds another layer to his contributions within the company, as he helps guide and produce matches for the next generation of talent in AEW.
