Zilla Fatu Talks Potential WWE Future, Timing, Patience, and the Journey

Third-generation star Zilla Fatu, son of the late Umaga and a proud member of the legendary Anoaʻi family, has been steadily carving his path on the independent wrestling scene.

Currently competing for Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling (ROW) and making appearances for GCW, Fatu is taking a measured approach to his career. In a recent interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, he opened up about potentially joining WWE, whether he’s had a tryout, and how he views his readiness for the big stage.

When asked about a future in WWE, Fatu didn’t hesitate: “Yes, that’s so obvious. Yes, I would love to. I hope I am [on their radar].” The dream is there, but he’s in no hurry to force it.

Fatu confirmed he hasn’t had a tryout yet, saying, “No, sir. I literally have just been training, man. Just being patient. I’m not in a rush to get anywhere… I’m still trying to figure out as far as within this business, I’m trying to figure out who I am, and I think that’s just going to take time, it’s just going to take repetition. But yeah, I think I’m right where I’m supposed to be right now.”

When it comes to his readiness for WWE, Fatu showed refreshing self-awareness: “No. I thought I was. No, I think I still have more time to grow. I’m still green. I still have a long way to go, man. So I think when the timing is right, and not only that, when I feel right… that’s when I’m gonna start pushing for it. But for right now, I’m just being patient and just waiting, just grinding, enjoying the process, enjoying the journey, and just learning as I go and always be the student in the game.”

Fatu believes that he will make that leap to WWE eventually, and he’s committed to growing his brand as he figures out the business. “I know I’m gonna be there. I think it just takes repetition, and it takes time, and I think where I’m at today, my brand is only going to excel… we’re still figuring it out every day and brainstorming every day.”

With a mix of patience, humility, and the pedigree of one of wrestling’s most storied families, Zilla Fatu’s journey to WWE – whenever it happens – will be one worth watching.
