Alexa Bliss on the Emotional Meaning Behind Lilly and Her Time With The Fiend
In a rare glimpse behind the curtain, Alexa Bliss shared the deeply personal meaning behind Lilly—the eerie doll that became more than just a prop during her time alongside The Fiend.
Alexa Bliss recently spoke to Joey Karni and The Angle Podcast, offering insight into a deeply personal piece of her on-screen character—Lilly, the eerie doll that became synonymous with her run during the Firefly Funhouse and Fiend era of WWE. But for Bliss, Lilly isn’t just a prop or a gimmick. She’s a symbol of emotional continuity and healing.
During the interview, Bliss discussed the origin and meaning of Lilly, revealing the emotional core that has kept the character close to her heart, even after her on-screen alignment with Bray Wyatt (The Fiend) ended.
“Lilly started out as a coping mechanism to when Bray was burned alive by Randy Orton, which I’ve never forgotten about. It was just someone to talk to and someone to carry on, you know, filling that void of Bray being gone in that moment and now it’s kind of doing the same thing for me now. For me it’s having that little piece of that time with me at all times because she became such a big character in that world and she’s something I don’t want to ever let go of.”
Lilly was introduced during Bliss’s transformation into a darker, supernatural character following her alliance with The Fiend. As the storyline evolved, Lilly became more than just a haunting sidekick—she became a fixture of Bliss’s presentation and, as we now know, a tangible link to an emotionally significant chapter in her career.
What stands out in Bliss’s words is the emotional weight she still carries from that time. The burning of Bray Wyatt by Randy Orton wasn’t just a storyline beat—it marked a shift in Bliss’s character direction and left her to navigate the post-Fiend narrative on her own. Lilly, in that vacuum, became her anchor.
The doll, once seen as just a spooky plot device, now represents something much deeper: a creative and emotional constant for Bliss through a period of chaos, change, and eventual absence from WWE TV.
Bliss’s comments to Karni offer fans a rare look at how character development in professional wrestling can intersect with real-life emotions. For her, Lilly isn’t just a remnant of the supernatural era—she’s a vessel of memory, legacy, and love.
