Karrion Kross’ Bumping Habits Reportedly Limiting His Potential Main WWE Roster Push
The plot thickens as a new report potentially sheds light on why Karrion Kross has struggled to get traction on WWE’s main roster since his NXT call up.
Karrion Kross’ potential rise to the top of WWE’s main roster has reportedly been hampered by a longstanding backstage concern, according to veteran wrestling journalist Wade Keller of Pro Wrestling Torch.
On the most recent episode of the PWTorch post-Raw show, Keller shed light on an issue that has quietly followed Kross from his early days in NXT and TNA: a reluctance to take traditional wrestling bumps.
“I talked about this when he was all the rage in NXT and coming out of TNA,” Keller said. “I was like, ‘Wrestlers are telling me when he gets to the main roster, nobody’s gonna put up with the fact that he doesn’t take bumps.’ He’s scared to bump. He doesn’t flat back bumps. I don’t know if he’s got an injury or a concern.”
The commentary aligns with what many fans and insiders have seemingly noticed. While Kross has maintained a strong visual presentation with his intense entrance and dominant persona, his in-ring performances have often lacked the physical storytelling that comes from taking bumps to elevate an opponent or sell offense convincingly.
Keller continued, “I know wrestlers who I chat with about things when I want wrestlers’ insight are like, ‘Oh right Wade, you’re right when you say Karrion Kross won’t be a big star on the main roster, but one of the reasons you are missing out is just watch his next match. He just doesn’t really take bumps.'”
This insight may provide context for Kross’ inconsistent booking and lack of sustained momentum on Raw and SmackDown. Despite receiving multiple chances, including high-profile vignettes and feuds, Kross has yet to solidify himself as a top-tier talent in WWE.
While it’s unclear whether this bumping issue stems from a physical limitation, psychological hesitancy, or stylistic preference, the perception among his peers could be influencing how far WWE is willing to go with his push.
Bodyslam.net will continue to monitor this developing story as more details come to light about Kross’ role and reputation within WWE.
