John Gaburick Flies From Riyadh To Miami To Escort WWE Talent On Saudi Arabia Charter Flight
As WWE gears up for a loaded international weekend featuring Friday Night SmackDown and Night of Champions live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, one familiar face within the company took an extra flight to make sure things were running smooth on the ground and in the air.. and it wasn’t Triple H.
According to a report from PWInsider, longtime WWE executive John Gaburick, who currently oversees production for WWE’s Saudi Arabia events, made a key move this week by flying from Riyadh to Miami to personally accompany WWE talent on the company’s charter flight back to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The flight — carrying the majority of the SmackDown roster and several marquee stars set to compete at Night of Champions — departed Miami around 5 PM Eastern on Tuesday.
Gaburick, often referred to internally as WWE’s point man for the Saudi Arabia relationship, wasn’t just hitching a ride. Sources told PWInsider that his presence on the outbound flight was intentional — in part to ease concerns and provide a familiar, authoritative face amid lingering memories of past travel-related complications during overseas tours. One source characterized the move as “reassuring,” with Gaburick making it clear that this trip is business as usual.
Nicknamed “Big” John Gaburick by many in the industry, he’s been instrumental in WWE’s international television and event production strategies, particularly in high-priority markets like the Middle East. His role as a bridge between WWE and Saudi officials has only grown in importance since the company’s long-term partnership with the General Entertainment Authority began in 2018.
While not typically in front of cameras, Gaburick’s backstage influence is well-documented. His current duties put him in the thick of WWE’s most globally scrutinized shows, managing everything from local coordination to on-site logistics — and apparently, even passenger morale at 30,000 feet.
