Nixon Newell Opens Up About Her Free Agency Struggles
Former WWE Superstar Tegan Nox, now competing under her previous ring name Nixon Newell, recently opened up about her post-WWE journey during an appearance on the Wrestling in the Middle podcast. In a candid and heartfelt response, Newell shared her honest thoughts on how her free agency is progressing following her release from WWE late last year.
When asked how business has been treating her since entering free agency, Newell didn’t mince words:
“Um, not great if I’m being honest. Um, severe lack of bookings. Uh, not sure where that’s from, but the bookings that I have done, like I’ve been home to Attack, which has been phenomenal. Got to wrestle Dani Luna, who’s been on my list, god, for years since she first started training. I could tell she was going to be something special. Um, so she’s been on my list for a very, very long time. So, I’m glad that one was in the books at least. But yeah, it’s been slow. Hopefully it picks up soon ’cause it’s a nightmare, but hopefully soon it gets better.”
Newell’s return to the independent circuit has seen some bright spots, including her recent match with Dani Luna at Attack! Pro Wrestling, a bout that held special significance for her. Despite the slow momentum in terms of consistent bookings, Newell remains hopeful for the future and is looking forward to more opportunities to showcase her talent. Known for her resilience and in-ring ability, Nixon Newell is a seasoned performer with international experience and a loyal fanbase behind her.
As the wrestling landscape continues to shift and evolve, free agents like Newell remain poised for a resurgence, and fans will no doubt be watching closely to see where she lands next. Nixon will be competing for AML Wrestling in Winston-Salem, NC on Sunday, June 29th, 2025 against Clara Carter.
