The Glamour has arrived in WWE.
In a major development for WWE’s women’s division, former AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May made her highly anticipated debut on the June 3rd episode of WWE NXT.
May, who made headlines throughout her AEW run for her in-ring talent and star presence, stepped onto the NXT stage for the first time to confront several top women’s competitors, signaling her intention to be a force within the brand. Her appearance capped off weeks of speculation regarding her free agency following AEW recently removing her from their roster page.
According to a report from TC of WrestleVotes, WWE has plans to rebrand Mariah May with a new ring name, although the final name has yet to be decided. TC noted in a tweet, “Mariah May will be getting a new WWE ring name once it’s officially decided upon.”
Mariah May’s time in AEW was highlighted by a high-profile storyline with Toni Storm and a memorable AEW Women’s World Championship reign. Her title win at AEW All In London in 2024 solidified her status as a top-tier talent before dropping the title earlier this year in a critically acclaimed bout.
Her transition to WWE marks the next chapter in her rapidly ascending career. With a new name and a new stage, fans can expect Mariah May, under whatever moniker she assumes, to make an immediate impact in WWE’s women’s division.
