Hulk Hogan Able To Feel His Hands For The First Time In A Long Time After Neck Fusion Surgery, Eric Bischoff Provides Update
WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is recovering after undergoing a significant neck fusion surgery last week, according to longtime friend and former WCW executive Eric Bischoff. Speaking on the latest episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff shared details about Hogan’s condition following the complex procedure.
“I don’t know about [the] ‘back to work’ part, I mean, he’s taking phone calls? He flew in on Tuesday night, had surgery early Wednesday morning — it was a several hour surgery — they were working on … the discs in his neck, but they had to go in front through his neck to get to ’em,” Bischoff explained.
The surgery, which reportedly lasted several hours, required surgeons to access Hogan’s cervical spine through the front of his neck in order to treat damaged discs. While Hogan’s physical wear and tear from decades in the wrestling ring is well-documented, Bischoff’s update suggests the WWE Hall of Famer is showing signs of improvement.
“But from what I’ve heard, from one of the people that works closely to him on a daily basis, was that coming out of that surgery, for the first time in a long time, he could actually feel his hands,” Bischoff revealed. “It’s amazing that he’s still walking, it shocks me that he’s still capable of walking. He’s kind of a fighter and he’s digging in.”
Hogan, 71, has faced numerous surgeries over the years, including multiple back and knee operations stemming from his in-ring career. Despite his health battles, the legendary performer remains active in the public eye, recently making sporadic media appearances and maintaining contact with fans.
While a full return to work remains uncertain, Hogan’s apparent improvement post-surgery is an encouraging sign.
