One last time.
The main event of WWE’s Backlash PLE is set. According to a new report from @WrestleVotes, the main event for Backlash will be John Cena vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship. Additionally, the match is said to have the tagline of “one last time.”
This will be the first time the two have wrestled each other in a singles match since they headlined a house show in New Mexico back on February 11th, 2017.
“Surprise, surprise: The main event of Backlash is set to be John Cena vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship—billed as “one last time.” This will be their first singles match since 2/11/17, when they headlined a house show in New Mexico.”
On the RAW after Mania episode of WWE Monday Night RAW this past Monday, John Cena addressed the WWE Universe after defeating Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. After his promo, Cena was caught off guard and hit with an RKO out of nowhere by Randy Orton. Which sets up their upcoming Backlash main event for the WWE Championship.
