Demolition Sign New WWE Legends Deals, Fuels Speculation Of Possible Hall Of Fame Induction
One of the more popular WWF tag teams that once ruled the late ’80s have signed a WWE Legends deal.
As first reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Demolition—Bill Eadie (Ax) and Barry Darsow (Smash)— have inked legends deals with WWE, and for those who grew up watching the hard hitting team of Demolition, this news is long overdue.
With the signing of their new WWE Legends Deals, Demolition has also been added back to the WWE Alumni page of their website.
The timing of Demolition’s WWE Legends deals, and their addition to the Alumni page has sparked a lot of speculation about the team potentially being inducted into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame Class. Bodyslam.net reached out to WWE, and sources inquiring about a possible Demolition HOF induction, but have not received any word back from WWE or sources within the company.
Despite a bitter mid-’90s legal battle over the Demolition name and their involvement in a dismissed CTE lawsuit, the duo’s resume remains solid, including three WWF Tag Team Championship reigns. Outside of their time as a tag team in WWF, Eadie cut his teeth as The Masked Superstar, while Darsow took on many characters, wrestling as the Blacktop Bully, Krusher Kruschev and “Hole-In-One,” a golfer gimmick inspired by Pro Golfer Payne Stewart in WCW and Repo Man in WWE.
Under these new legends deals, Demolition’s image and likeness can can be used for figures, video games, and memorabilia.
