Has-Been Wrestler Sean Morley, Who Doesn’t Understand Science, Also Doesn’t Understand Law (or Pro Wrestling)
The views expressed in this or any other editorial are solely those of the writer and do not necessarily represent the views, thoughts, feelings, or sense of humor as any Bodyslam.net staff. They are opinions and should not be considered news.
Like many of his has-been, hangers-on peers, Sean Morley (the former Val Venis) doesn’t have anything to actually offer the world, so to maintain what little relevancy he has, Morley simply drinks from the well of transphobia and bigotry.
Such was the case recently when he took to Facebook (yes, Facebook — like every other old, bitter Gen-X’er) to once again scream into the ether about transgenderism.

So. There’s that. Morley is likely referring to the Executive Order that Donald Trump signed on Wednesday, which intends to ban trans athletes from women’s sports.
“The order, titled ‘Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,’ gives federal agencies wide latitude to ensure entities that receive federal funding abide by Title IX in alignment with the Trump administration’s view, which interprets ‘sex’ as the gender someone was assigned at birth,” the AP reports.
It’s possible that, like many other of Trump’s executive orders, this will be blocked by federal judges but, so far, that remains to be seen.
The problem with Morley’s post, besides the fact that it’s fucking stupid, is that the order doesn’t mean trans women are no longer trans women. It just means that, possibly, trans women cannot compete in women’s sports.
The second problem is that professional wrestling isn’t strictly a woman’s sport. It’s open to anybody that actually has talent (unlike Morley). So Morley is completely missing the point of the executive order that he’s trying to cite. Really, there wasn’t a point to his post. He was just grasping at straws to draw attention to himself because he has nothing else to offer the world of professional wrestling. Or, like, the world in general.
Anyway, here’s a list of the best matches and moments of Val Venis’ career: https://www.bodyslam.net/2024/02/21/editorial-the-best-matches-and-moments-of-val-venis/
Also, not to belabor the point, but Nyla Rose and Gisele Shaw could absolutely beat Val Venis’ ass.
