2025 will be the end of an era.
This year will be the final year that Sting will be appearing in full gear, as he has announced that he will be retiring the Stinger war paint at the end of 2025.
Sting wrestled the final match of his career at AEW Revolution 2024 in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he teamed with Darby Allin to defeat The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) before retiring from in-ring competition. However, Sting has remained active on the convention scene since his retirement but it appears this will be the last year fans will be able to see him in full paint and gear.
Sting took to social media announcing that 2025 will be his last year appearing in full gear.
“I have enjoyed meeting fans at events around the world.
As much as I have loved interacting with you all in the traditional Stinger war paint, I’ve decided that 2025 will be my last year appearing in full gear.
I guess it’s 2025 or never. Wow. Tough to speak that out.“
Sting appeared as a headliner last November as part of WrestleCade 2024, as well as appearing at AEW’s All In 2025 Kickoff Sale event in Texas hyping AEW’s upcoming Stadium PPV later this year.
