Big Damo and Axel Tischer Discuss Sanity Origins

SAnitY made their long-awaited return as Trio at PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 160: VENDETTA on 26th 2023 . Since then, the former Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe have been teaming regularly for Progress Wrestling in the UK, and recently captured the promotion’s Tag Team Titles, at their Freedom Walks event in Philadelphia, during WrestleMania week.

Now, as they embark on a North American Tour, Irish Wrestling Entertainment recently sat down with both members for an in-depth discussion, with topics ranging from their history as a team, who formulated the idea of the group, their WWE main roster run, and why now is a good time to reform.

Damo: “It was Triple Hs Baby, Axel. You were there for the original part. Do you want to tell Gerry about the first part.”

Axel: “Yeah, so they told us an idea that Triple H has for years, and then told us, was Sawyer(Fulton) and myself, that we were on a list of guys who would fit the idea and then later EY (Eric Young) had debuted in NXT but was a freelance at the time and then when he signed a contract and Regal (William) pulled us aside and introduced us to EY and said this to Eric Young, these are the guys, you know the idea, we want to have you guys in a group, but not just in a normal group or stable or wrestling specific, it’s about characters.

Triple H had an idea in 2011, and it was based on the “Smoking Aces” movie. The 3 brothers from Smoking Aces, they are assassin’s, total psychopaths they would kill people with knives instead of shooting them because they were more sadistic.

Then they put us with Nikki Cross and then we had our NXT Takeover debut in Toronto, which was great but unfortunately or fortunately you can decide, Sawyer tore his Pec, unfortunately for him because it was a great chance to have something on TV, something where he can build something up but we has not experienced enough to deal with it and then the way Wrestling works, somebody’s bad luck is somebody else’s luck. My Irish fellow here with the Shamrock was the guy who took his place”.
