AJPW Champion Carnival 2024 Opening Night Results & Updated Standings; Ren Ayabe Scores Upset Over Kento Miyahara
The All Japan Pro-Wrestling Champion Carnival 2024 tournament got underway on April 18th as over 1,100 fans packed Korakuen Hall to witness the event.
The headlining match saw the current Triple Crown Champion Yuma Anzai defeat Jun Saito in just over 15 minutes to earn his first 2 points of the tournament. Anzai introduced a new finisher which he used to score the victory over Saito.
In a stunning upset, newly signed Ren Ayabe scored a huge victory over the AJPW ace Kento Miyahara after he connected with a Death Roulette finisher. Ayabe took to X following his victory and called the win a “huge one” and that everyone should keep an eye on him.
In other action, Yuma Aoyagi scored a win over Davey Boy Smith Jr and Suwama was victorious over Rei Saito.

- Champion Carnival – Block A: Shotaro Ashino [2] defeated Hokuto Omori [0] (7:02) with an Ankle Lock.
