Damian Priest is set to make his first defense.
On the Raw after WrestleMania, Jey Uso earned the right to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship against the newly-crowned champion Damian Priest at Backlash.
During a Raw Exclusive, this is what Priest had to say about his new challenger at Backlash.
“Main Event Jey Uso. Let me be the first to congratulate you on earning the first shot at my World Heavyweight Championship. But don’t get carried away with the celebration. Because when the match happens, I’m going to beat the YEET out of you,” Priest said.
Priest became the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion after cashing in on Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40: Sunday following McIntyre’s win over Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins in the opening match.
