Mustafa Ali debuted with TNA at their LIVE No Surrender PLE after hitting free agency in January. Ali immediately won the X Division title in his first match with the company when he defeated Chris Sabin.
Mustafa joined some of the TNA greats such as AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Chris Sabin, Frankie Kazarian, and many others when he captured the title.
While speaking on Five Questions With The Mini Host, Mustafa was asked about his TNA debut and working for the promotion.
“Amazing. I grew up as a TNA kid, if that makes sense. So guys like Will Ospreay, Ricochet, myself, this is… is what we grew up watching coming up in the industry. So I kind of had a surreal experience my first night in TNA. I made my entrance and I do my signature pose. And when I looked down and I saw TNA in the ring, I had these goosebumps. I’m like, oh man, this is happening. It hit me there. Not before or anything like that. So it’s an honor and privilege to step into a TNA ring.”

Ali bested Sabin through his contractual rematch as well, surviving that match as his first real challenge.
Jake Something will be Ali’s next big challenge after winning a dynamic six match match and overcoming the other five competitors last week.
Ali is now scheduled to defend his X Division Title against Jake Something at the LIVE TNA Rebellion PPV on 4/20.
We’ll have to tune in to find out if Ali can keep Jake at bay, or if his reign as X Division champion will be short-lived.
