The Motor City Machine Guns could be on the open market as soon as the end of March.

The Motor City Machine Guns – Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin – will be working for Smash Wrestling in London, Ontario on Sunday 4/21.

That date is extremely interesting as it would be the same weekend TNA is running their Rebellion PPV in Las Vegas.  Sunday 4/21 is TNA’s post-PPV TV taping in Las Vegas.   

The belief among some we have spoken with is that Shelley and Sabin’s existing TNA deals are expiring shortly, possibly as soon as the end of March.  If that is correct, it is possible they could remain working for the company, but that TNA would no longer be their priority, hence the booking for Smash the same day as the TV taping.

The duo signed new contracts at in March of 2023, but the lengths of those contracts were not disclosed at the time.

The Motor City Machine Guns are the most storied duo in all of TNA who are still competing at a high level.

Individually, both have found success recently, as Alex Shelley was the TNA World Champion from June of 2023 until January of 2024, and Chris Sabin carried the X Division Title from September of 2023 until February of 2024.

Shelley’s World Title victory was his first with TNA, and Sabin’s X Division Title run was his record tenth run with the belt.

Chris Sabin is also a producer for the company.

Many fans hope to see the duo stick around – if, in fact, their contracts are up soon.
