Jack Perry Says AEW Is Afraid To Let Him Come Back Or Release Him From His Contract

Lee South Hook vs Jack Perry London, UK AEW All In August 27, 2023

The Scapegoat had a lot to say about the last six months.

At NJPW’s 52nd anniversary show, Jack Perry got his first win in New Japan Pro-Wrestling against Shota Umino to advance to the second round of the New Japan Cup. This was Perry’s first match since losing to HOOK at AEW’s All In PPV before getting suspended for his role in a backstage altercation with CM Punk.

Perry addressed his return and seemingly called out AEW for being too afraid to let him come back, or even release him from his contract.

“I feel amazing. You want to know why? I haven’t had a wrestling match in six months. Just for a point of reference, through the absolute worst time in my entire life, I took one month, for me. Now, why six months? It ain’t because of me. It’s because other people are afraid. Nobody wants to have the difficult conversations. Everyone is afraid to let me come back, or even let me go, even when I fucking asked for it. I get it. Nobody wants to look in the mirror, so they need somebody to pin up on a cross so they can go about their daily lives and act like nothing ever happened. That’s over now. There are a very select handful of people in the world who still have my back. Tonight, I think I found a few more,” he said.

Perry joined House of Torture following the win over Umino. Perry will battle Toru Yano in the second round of the New Japan Cup.
