Shortly after the news broke of Scott D’Amore’s departure from TNA Wrestling, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com released a report with a lot of new information around the dismissal, as well as potential plans going forward with Anthem Sports executives now steering the ship.

One interesting tidbit was Johnson referencing the possibility of the company going live for their weekly show.

“We are told that the company was working on their game plan for April and beyond this week. There was a hope among some they could pivot to live TV on AXS TV eventually.”

Dave Meltzer also brought it up on his Wrestling Observer Radio podcast earlier today:

“One of the things they’ve been looking at is, and this is not gonna happen any time soon, but they wanna go live. The idea is to go live and have a location where they go every Thursday, and Full Sail University is one of the places they’ve talked about. There’s probably other locations as well. Which would be really tough because Orlando already has NXT every Tuesday, but Scott D’Amore before he was ousted, Scott D’Amore, Lou D’Angeli, and Ed Nordholm went to Full Sail and scouted it out and that’s where they wanted to go.”

“The idea was under D’Amore and it may be delayed it may not, some of the talent knows about this, would be maybe a few test runs towards the end of the year, and then the mentality was live 2025, and of course with D’Amore not there they may also scrap that idea.”

TNA has not run live weekly programming since they were on the Spike TV network years ago.

It will be interesting to see if they follow through with this or stick to their taping model they’ve been using for years.
