TNA News and Notes — Anthem CEO Len Asper To Address The TNA Roster Tomorrow? AXSTV Rebranding, Future PPV Location Revealed?

On February 7th, Anthem Sports revealed via a press release through the TNA Wrestling social media account that Anthem Entertainment President, Anthony Cicione, had been named the new President of TNA Wrestling, leaving Scott D’Amore as the odd man out.

There was reportedly a Zoom call between some Anthem Sports executives – which included CEO Len Asper and new TNA President Anthony Cicione – and the talent/backstage staff for TNA. This meeting left a lot of talent upset due to the lack of transparency and outright lies surrounding the dismissal of former President, Scott D’Amore.

Will Len Asper show up in person to the first event since the management changes were made?

Mike Johnson of has, well, sort of an answer:

“Some within TNA are expecting Anthem head Len Asper to be at this weekend’s New Orleans events to address the troops. We haven’t heard that 100% is happening.”

Johnson also reported a few days ago that AXSTV owners Anthem Sports are talking about doing a rebrand of the network, and now he has some more information on that as well:

“As we mentioned last week, there’s talk that AXS TV will be rebranding later this year. We are told the frontrunner for a new name would be ANTHEM, which makes sense given who owns the channel. Stay tuned.”

Johnson also confirmed the rumored Rebellion location before it was changed, as well as a possible new event location:

“Rebellion was originally going to be The Hammerstein Ballroom but the decision was made to go back to The Palms in Las Vegas. There’s been some talk of doing a PPV weekend later this year in Montreal.”

Many of the fans and talent both feel and think that Anthem needs to communicate better with them going forward.
