Jim Ross Reveals His Contract With AEW Expires In February, Would Like For Tony Khan To Renew Deal

Good ol’ JR’s contract expires this February.

On the latest episode of Grilling JR, the legendary commentator revealed that his contract with AEW will be expiring in February of this year. It was first talked about after a phone call interrupted the show.

Conrad Thompson: There’s Vince (McMahon) calling right now.
Ross: I can’t come until the 14th.
Conrad: Is that the date your contract is up, Valentine’s Day?
Ross: Yeah.
Conrad: How about that, that’s going to be a pretty sweet renewal for Mr. Tony Khan, I would imagine.
Ross: I hope so. I would like to finish up in AEW. I have to be realistic about things. These birthdays, I’m the same age as (Nick) Saban and (Bill) Belichick. I just love working with [AEW].

Ross called the action in the main event of this past week’s AEW Dynamite where the Icon Sting and Darby Allin scored the victory over Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs.
