NJPW first unveiled the title during their press conference for Wrestle Kingdom 18 where in a triple threat, it’ll be Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay vs. David Finlay to crown the first-ever IWGP Global Champion.
In the main event of night two for Wrestle Kingdom 18, it’ll be Sanada defending the IWGP Heavyweight championship against the winner of this past year’s G1 Climax, Tetsuya Naito.
