Current NJPW STRONG Champion Seemingly WWE Bound

We could see a big move in or out of Stardom in 2024, among others.

Giulia just successfully defended the NJPW Strong Women’s Title against Megan Bayne, and was immediately challenged by AEW/ROH talent Trish Adora.

Giulia comments, accepting the challenge.

The match was made official for the NJPW Battle in the Valley event on January 13th.

There has been a lot of discourse recently running Giulia and her status with Stardom and possibly going to WWE.

Earlier today, Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter provided an update:

“Giulia right now is seen as likely to be going WWE in 2024.

Her contract expires with STARDOM in March. She may not be coming in right away, but as of right now she’s leaning toward going WWE in 2024.”

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is also reportedly interested in working with all-female Japanese pro wrestling company, Stardom.

“Besides the new deal working with All Japan, WWE has also expressed interest in working with STARDOM.

Nothing is finalised, but WWE is confirmed interested.”

The referenced deal with WWE and All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) will see William Regal’s son – Charlie Dempsey – compete in an All Japan ring on January 3rd.

WWE also did a deal with Pro Wrestling Noah at the beginning of 2023 that saw Shinsuke Nakamura work one of their big shows against Muta, and in exchange, the Great Muta was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this past April.

The company seems to be much more into working partnerships with Paul Levesque and Nick Khan at the helm of the WWE then when Vince McMahon was there.

It should be interesting to see how this potential relationship plays out.

Bodyslam will have continued coverage of the situation along the way as it develops.
