NJPW Names Hiroshi Tanahashi President And Representative Director, Tanahashi Comments

New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that Hiroshi Tanahashi has been named the new President and Representative Director for the promotion. The announcement was made following a meeting of NJPW’s board of directors and shareholders on December 22nd. In addition, NJPW named Hitoshi Matsumoto as the the new Director with the role of Chief of Business Production.  Taro Okada has also been appointed as a Director with the role of President & CEO for NJPW. Okada will be serving his role on a part time basis.

Takami Ohbari and Michiaki Nishizawa will leave their positions as President/Representative Director and Director on December 23rd.

I have been appointed President and Representative Director of New Japan Pro-Wrestling Co. I will do my best to make you enjoy New Japan Pro-Wrestling even more. I will not get tired, so don’t worry, everyone.

NJPW will hold a press conference on December 26th regarding the personnel changes.

Hiroshi Tanahashi is expected to address the NJPW fans for the first time as President and Representative Director on January 4th at Wrestle Kingdom 18 in the Tokyo Dome.
