A little while ago, WWE took to their social media Twitter account to release a video message from Shawn Michaels stating that Carmelo Hayes will be taking part in the United States Title tournament.

Hayes will be taking on Grayson Waller as part of the tournament.

The rest of the participants are:
-Santos Escobar
-Kevin Owens
-Austin Theory
-Bobby Lashley
-Dragon Lee
-Karrion Kross
So far, Bobby Lashley defeated Karrion Kross to advance in the tournament, and Santos Escobar defeated Dragon Lee to advance as well.
Carmelo won the NXT World Title in April of this year. One of the first defenses of the title was against Grayson Waller only a few weeks later, which Hayes won . This will be only the second time these two have met in the ring.
Will Carmelo advance in the tournament, or will Waller get the better of him? We’ll have to tune into Smackdown this next Friday to find out.
