Randy Orton Contract Update

Randy Orton had been out of action for a year and a half before his recent return to the company.

Orton’s return was made official on the 11/20 episode of Monday Night RAW when Cody announced that he’d be the fifth member of their WarGames team, which consisted of Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso.

Orton then officially returned to the ring at the Survivor Series Premium Live Event on 11/25 as their WarGames partner.

Fightful Select now has somewhat of a contract update on Orton’s deal.

In 2019, Orton signed a five-year contract with WWE, with one WWE higher up saying that they “would be surprised” if WWE did not end up extending his current deal.

Orton’s original deal went at least until Fall of 2024, which would put him at about a year remaining. However, after missing nearly 18 months, WWE sources indicated there’s a distinct possibility that WWE could add “injury time” to Orton’s deal that would have him in the company until 2026. While one higher up told us that they expect this to happen, it exists as a probability, and we haven’t confirmed that it’s happened as of yet.

Randy Orton appeared at Friday Night Smackdown this past week and signed an exclusive contract to be a Smackdown-brand talent going forward.

Orton is looking to avenge his injury and wants to take out The Bloodline; he started with Dominik Mysterio last Monday night on RAW, and continued by going after Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa on Smackdown before signing his exclusive contract.

What will Randy’s next move be? We’ll have to tune in this Friday night to find out!
