As most of the professional wrestling world knows right now, CM Punk has returned to the WWE as he appeared at the WWE Survivor Series event in Chicago at The Allstate Arena.
CM Punk walked out on the WWE in January 2014 on bad terms and began openly criticizing the company. CM Punk had signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2021 but had his contract with the company terminated in August 2023 following a number of high profile backstage incidents.
Matt Riddle, who is no stranger to controversial incidents, took to social media to comment on the WWE return of CM Punk:
Matt Riddle left the WWE in September 2023. He had been reportedly suspended by the WWE in 2022 after failing WWE’s Wellness Policy for a second time. In the summer of 2020, Riddle had a sexual assault accusation levied against him by indy wrestler Candy Cartwright. Riddle has denied the allegation and Cartwright dropped the lawsuit against him in July 2021.
In 2023, Matt Riddle accused an officer at JFK airport in NYC of sexual harassment in an post made on Instagram. That post was deleted by Matt Riddle. Riddle departed the WWE shortly after the JFK airport accusation.
