Kane comments on the recent rumors of a possible CM Punk return.

CM Punk’s exit from AEW was not a calm one on mutual terms, as back at AEW All In, Punk would be fired from the promotion with cause following a backstage brawl at the event that also included Jack Perry. Tony Khan was also present during the altercation, and deemed it necessary to let Punk go from the promotion.

Following his firing, fans have speculated where he could end up next, with IMPACT Wrestling, WWE and NJPW all being possible eventual landing spots for Punk. However, it has been reported that WWE are not interested in bringing Punk back to the company at this time.

Speaking with Bill Apter of Sprtskeeda Wrestlebinge, Kane addressed the recent rumors regarding Punk and a possible WWE return.

“That’s a business decision. You know, I always wish everybody the best. Again, in the end, it’s going to be what everyone thinks is best for business, right? I really don’t know that much about the controversy, actually. I haven’t followed that closely. I just always want the best for everybody,”

Kane

Kane was the last WWE superstar to be physical with Punk in 2014 when he eliminated Punk from the Royal Rumble match and chokeslammed him through the announce table.

Punk has not been seen in WWE since.
