Mansoor Explains Why Winning Championships In WWE “Was Out Of The Question”

Mansoor reflects on his initial run in WWE and how he was unable to capture championship gold.

When Mansoor first signed with WWE, his deal was an interesting one. He would come in as a Saudi talent around the time the company would begin running their very lucrative events in the country.

As such, Mansoor was not allowed to lose during his initial run. This would take him out of the equation for a lot of booking, as not being allowed to lose would prevent him from dropping a championship if he were to win one.

In an AMA on Reddit, Mansoor was asked whether his winning streak in WWE was leading to a title match.

“I’m proud of that 205 run and was glad I got the opportunity to show more of what I was capable of. Sadly, the streak was merely a byproduct of a mandate from up top that I couldn’t lose, so it was never going to lead into anything. I was told I couldn’t even lose by being the person not pinned in a tag or multi-man match, so winning the title was out of the question. Very creatively stifling and made it so I couldn’t regularly appear on NXT,”

WWE released Mansoor in a round of cuts on September 21st that was the first large exodus of talent under the TKO Group.

Prior to his release, Mansoor was working as part of the Maximum Male Models.
