Alex Shelley Apologizes To PW Revolver & GCW For Withdrawing From Events Due To Injury, Plugs Upcoming IMPACT Match With Jonathan Gresham
Moments ago, IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley took to his social media Twitter account to put out a statement regarding a few bookings he had to withdraw from due to a current injury.
“It’s not much – I let @IMPACTWRESTLING handle big things. I just wanted to apologize to @GCWrestling_ and @PWRevolver fans for being advertised and having to cancel. I love both companies dearly and their fan bases, and if I could wrestle, I would.”
Alex Shelley was set to take on Game Changer Wrestling regular, Masha Slamovich, at tonights event but is unable to wrestle. On October 30th, Alex Shelley was announced for a Pro Wrestling Revolver show on November 16th in Los Angeles, although an opponent hadn’t been announced yet.
Shelley appeared on last nights broadcast of IMPACTonAXSTV, which was filmed a week prior in Glasgow, Scotland as part of the company UK Invasion Tour. Shelley was allegedly injured in that match and held out for the rest of the UK tour.
Moments ago, Alex Shelley took to his social media Twitter again to explain that the injury might have come from his World Title matchup with Jonathan Gresham that was filmed at the Bound For Glory Fallout but will air next week. Check out those spoilers here.
“Also, if you will miss me, and maybe want to see WHY I suffered a two location calf strain in the gastroc muscle belly and the myotendinous junction? Watch this match. Seriously. Wrestling is a physical sport and @IMPACTWRESTLING thrives on that.”
In an update a few days ago, IMPACT President Scott D’Amore said that “he’s going to be more than healthy and ready before he needs to be in an IMPACT Wrestling ring,” which is currently a co-branded show with AAA Lucha Libre on November 26th. Alex Shelley is set to team with El Hijo Del Vikingo to take on Trey Miguel & Abismo Negro.
