Moose: There Were Talks Of Me Facing Monty Brown At TNA: There’s No Place Like Home In 2020
No Place Like Home was a flagship TNA event, and IMPACT was attempting to bring it back for a WrestleCon show a few years back. It was planned to take place during the WrestleCon convention on April 3, 2020 at The Ritz Ybor in
Tampa, Florida.
Unfortunately, the world shut down in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the event did not take place.
There were only 2 matches planned for the event – an Ultimate X Match and a King of the Mountain Match, neither of which had any competitors announced yet. Chris Sabin, Scott Steiner, and “Wildcat” Chris Harris, and Amazing Red were a few of the names announced for the event, as well as Ken Anderson and DLO Brown representing the A’s and 8’s faction.
During a virtual signing with Golden Ring Collectibles, the host compared Moose to Monty Brown, given their similar career paths. Moose noted that he always wanted to face Brown, and the match had been talked about for a show during WrestleMania Weekend in 2020, but it was shut down due to the pandemic.
“That’s a match I always wanted but…So there was talks. It was before COVID happened. We were supposed to be doing a WrestleMania show, like how every company does a show during WrestleMania weekend. It was in Tampa, and the talks was it supposed to be me versus Monty Brown. But COVID happened and shut down the whole thing,” Moose said.

Monty Brown’s last match in TNA was a Falls Count Anywhere Match against Rhino on the 9/21/06 episode of TNA Wrestling, which ended with a No Contest. In January of 2007, Brown would join WWE/ECW as Marquis Cor Von.
Fast forward to Bound for Glory 2023, and we got the official announcement that IMPACT Wrestling will be rebranding to TNA Wrestling moving forward, starting in January of 2024.
