Bryan Danielson’s Status For Wrestle Kingdom

Bryan Danielson’s status for Wrestle Kingdom is in question due to his recent orbital injury.

Danielson is one of the top talents on the planet, but is winding down his exemplary career inside the squared circle. He is also currently dealing with a broken orbital that will keep him out of action until the end of the year.

As AEW Dynamite drew to a close on Wednesday evening, Bryan Danielson ate both an Orange Punch and a Rainmaker and went down holding his face and was quickly examined by doctors.

On AEW Collision this week, it was announced that Danielson would require surgery and once again would find himself on the injured list. Later in the show, Claudio Castagnoli confirmed Bryan had suffered a broken orbital bone.

Now, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio has reported that Danielson will be “touch and go” for the January 4th Wrestle Kingdom show.

“Yeah, it’s sad….I don’t know if he makes it to the Tokyo Dome show…It may be touch and go if he had surgery for January 4th. Hopefully, he can do it.”

PWInsider would confirm over the weekend that the injury is in fact legitimate.

We will have to wait and see if Danielson will make the show, but for now it is not guaranteed either way.
