Eric Bischoff Names Possible Opponents For Sting’s Last Match

Eric Bischoff addresses Sting’s impending retirement.

On last Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite, Sting addressed the fans and revealed that at AEW Revolution 2024, he will be retiring from the ring for good.

The reaction to the news from both those in the industry and fans alike has been an overwhelming sense of gratitude to “The Icon”.

There has also been much speculation as to who Sting will face in his final match and now, longtime friend of Sting, Eric Bischoff has chimed in.

During a virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, Bischoff was asked who he thought should face Sting in his final match and after jokingly suggesting Ric Flair, he proceeded to name some more serious options.

“I don’t know. Chris Jericho? I don’t think they’ve ever had a match, and there’s history there. That’d be kind of cool. I’m sure there would be a great story with Darby Allin, right? So it depends on what you’re going for and how you want to present it. Do you want to present it as part of an angle or a storyline, or do you want to present it just as a celebration, acknowledging everything that Sting’s done, which is what I suspect that they’ll do, and it’ll be more of a dream match kind of format or presentation, which, there’s nothing wrong with that, in my opinion in this case,”

Sting is currently scheduled to receive a special gift from Tony Khan on tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite, with Darby Allin.
