Naomichi Marufuji Wants Another Match With Kenny Omega

Naomichi Marufuji took to social media to state that he would like another match with Kenny Omega.

The two superstars have faced each other only once in their careers which was back on July 25th 2010 at DDT Pro-Wrestling’s Ryogoku Peter Pan 2010. Marufuji had to wrestle most of the match with only his left arm due to an injury early in the encounter to his right arm.

Highlights of the match were posted on social media to which Naomichi Marufuji himself responded to pinpointing where he had gotten injured. Marufuji touched upon how performing the last move on Omega was dangerous due to his right arm being “useless”. Marufuji also stated that he would like another match with Kenny Omega.

Marufuji commented on a picture he posted explaining where got injured in the match (picture is below) and then went into stating he’d like another match with Omega:

At this point, I hit my neck against the rope and lost all strength in my right arm from the shoulder down, rendering it useless. After that, my right arm still wouldn’t move, and I ended up dropping the last move in a dangerous way… As a professional, I feel sorry for my opponent, and I really regret this. He’s someone I’d like to play against again. It may be far away, but…

With Tony Khan’s willingness to work with any promotion and the fact he has worked with NOAH in the past, it’s very possible we could finally see a rematch over 13 years in the making between Kenny Omega and Naomichi Marufuji.
