Matt Riddle Had Significant Plans For Tag Team With Drew McIntyre Prior To Release

Matt Riddle had significant plans for a tag team run with Drew McIntyre.

Riddle and McIntyre were working together prior to Riddle’s release a few weeks back, as WWE continued to place Riddle in surprising teams character wise.

Now, we know a little more about those plans. WrestleVotes reports that there were significant plans for a tag team run for the pair. They also revealed that the pair were to be dubbed “McRiddle.”

Prior to his departure from the company, I’m told there were significant plans for a Matt Riddle / Drew McIntyre tag team. So much so, various merchandise items were designed with the team name……. “McRiddle.”

Of course, the plans were scrapped alongside Riddle’s release from the company last month. McIntyre is now working towards a heel turn on Monday Nights, as his attitude has changed significantly in recent weeks.

On Monday’s RAW, McIntyre defeated The Miz.
