The Ball Is Reportedly In Edge’s Court Regarding Possible AEW Signing

The ball is in Edge’s court with regards to possibly signing for AEW.

On a recent SmackDown last month, Edge was able to defeat Sheamus with the spear while celebrating his 25th anniversary with the promotion.

After the match, Edge took a microphone and let the Toronto crowd know that it was his final match in the city. With this information, many have speculated Edge could be on his way to AEW.

Yesterday, PWInsider first reported the update, noting that the ‘Rated-R Superstar’ was removed from the miscellaneous section of the roster. Edge is still currently listed on WWE’s public roster, which can be seen on WWE.com.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the ball is in Edge’s court regarding possibly signing for All Elite Wrestling.

“There is also the question of whether Edge, a bigger name than all of them (the recent releases), might be interested in going, since his contract expires this week with WWE. He would have the most short-term value, although at his age that would have to be thought of as short-term. The fact Tony Khan feels Christian is so valuable right now at the same age and that AEW and Edge were negotiating a deal three plus years ago when WWE came back with a better deal would indicate on this one that the ball is in Edge’s court.”

Edge is still listed on WWE.com on the roster as of this writing.

AEW’s Anthony Bowens recently stated he wants to scissor with Edge
