Claudio Castagnoli Says Bryan Danielson Deserves To End His Career On His Terms

Claudio Castagnoli is the latest Blackpool Combat Club member to comment on Danielson’s upcoming retirement from professional wrestling.

On the AEW Collision prior to AEW All Out, many fans were unsure who would step up to defend Ricky Steamboat against Ricky Starks, with the previous answer obviously being CM Punk. However, Bryan Danielson would answer the call, returning a month ahead of schedule from a broken arm. Danielson would go on to win this match.

On a recent AEW Dynamite, Bryan would note that he will be retiring once his daughter turns seven in the next year.

Claudio Castagnoli said to Baby Huey of In The Kliq on 1077 The Bone regarding Danielson’s admission:

“I’m close with Bryan. We talk a lot, just about wrestling, but life in general,”

“Bryan had an absolute Miracle career. As you know, people counted him out so many times, and he came back from things that normal people probably wouldn’t. So, for him to call it on his own terms and end his career whenever he wants to, I think that’s very important to him, and he deserves that. So, whenever he decides that enough is enough, he will do so, but I also think you have to very much pay attention to how he worded it.

Castagnoli is currently scheduled to defend the Ring Of Honor World Title on tonight’s AEW Dynamite Grand Slam against Eddie Kingston, with the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship on the line.

Meanwhile, Danielson will battle Ricky Starks in a Texas Death Match on Saturday’s AEW Collision.
