Naomichi Marufuji Comments On The Possibility Of Adding A GHC Women’s Title To Pro Wrestling NOAH

Naomichi Marufuji will be celebrating his 25th year in the world of professional wrestling with a huge 25th Anniversary show on September 17th at Korakuen Hall In Tokyo. He will be facing the current IWGP US Champion and worldwide superstar Will Ospreay in the main event of that show.

In addition to be an active wrestler for Pro Wrestling NOAH, he serves as the vice president of the promotion, a position he has held since September 2011.

In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, Marufuji was asked about female wrestlers participating in Pro Wrestling NOAH:

Recently, we’ve been having female wrestlers compete in big matches, and got good feedback from the customers. I think we should learn by observing the hungry spirit of the female wrestlers who immediately responded to my invitation. I think wrestlers who can do a bit of flying are more interesting, and I have high hopes for such wrestlers, regardless of whether they are freelancers, affiliated with a promotion, male or female.

Marufuji was then asked by Tokyo Sports if there could be a GHC Women’s Championship introduced into NOAH:

It would be interesting to hear more and more people speak up about it, and it would be interesting if someone came along who did it to the extent that Noah had no choice but to make it.
