When AEW decided it was time for Orange Cassidy to ascend to the main event scene in the promotion.
It is currently an incredibly chaotic time for All Elite Wrestling as the company has terminated CM Punk’s contract with cause.
This comes on an important weekend for AEW, as the company has been in Punk’s hometown of Chicago for All Out this weekend.
The show must go on however, and will feature matchups such as Bryan Danielson vs Ricky Starks and the main event, Orange Cassidy vs Jon Moxley with the AEW International Championship on the line. The match is a long time coming, as the pair have been scheduled to face off in the past.
Fightful Select now reports that AEW made the call for the two men to main event the PPV earlier this week.
AEW knew by Wednesday that Jon Moxley vs. Orange Cassidy was going to end up main eventing the show, we’re told.

We will have to wait and see to what standard the two men will deliver on tonight’s show.
