Knockout Battle Royal
-Masha Slamovich vs Killer Kelly vs Alisha Edwards vs KiLynn King vs Gisele Shaw vs Savannah Evans vs Jody Threat vs Jessicka vs Courtney Rush

Alisha Edwards picks up the victory after she flipped both Jody Threat and KiLynn King over the top ropes and onto the outside. There was a spot earlier in the match where it looked like Alisha was eliminated, but she wasn’t.

My opinion: this was a clever way to get Alisha the victory, and I don’t mind her winning this at all. Trinity isn’t losing the Knockouts World Title to Alisha after beating Deonna twice, but Alisha is a different and unexpected opponent – in a good way. I love that this Battle Royal match came down to Jody Threat and KiLynn King – 2 of IMPACT’s more recently signed Knockouts – as the last 2 competitors besides Alisha.

Backstage, we see Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin together. Sabin starts talking about Rush, when Josh Alexander walks up and tells Shelley he wants to clear the air from last week. Josh says he let him emotions get the best of him when he saw Maclin return at Emergence.

Josh says his focus is on getting the World Title back that he never lost. Shelley says he’s not a transitional champion and that Josh can go ask Nick Aldis, Brian Myers or Hiroshi Tanahashi if he doesn’t believe him. Sabin tries to address Lio Rush but is again interrupted..this time by the Rascalz.

Sabin says they’re embarrassing themselves and that he should beat their asses. Sabin says they can do it tonight, if Wentz is available. Wentz says if management wants to make the match then he’ll be there.

Elsewhere backstage, Alisha Edwards is celebrating her victory in the Battle Royal with her husband, Eddie Edwards. Alisha will go on to face Trinity at Victory Road for the Knockouts World Title.

Alisha says she’s going to prove that she’s not just a “champions wife” and Traci and Frankie should look to them to see what the power couple of IMPACT Wrestling looks like. Alisha tells Trinity that she’s the look of the new Knockouts World champion.

-Crazzy Steve vs Mike Bailey

Steve has an awesome new entrance video and comes out with a mask.

Steve is trying to stab everyone with a fork, including Black Taurus, who tried to subdue Steve.

Steve eventually walks off on his own after fighting with security.

We go backstage to Bully Ray being chased by PCO. Ray gets through a door and slams it on PCO’s arm before he can reach Bully. Bully says he lit PCO on fire because he cares about him, and he’s trying to get rid of the monster so that he can bring the man – Carl – out.

We get a video package hyping Will Ospreay coming to Bound for Glory, but also get the announcement that Ospreay will be on the IMPACT UK Invasion Tour as part of their Turning Point event on Friday October 27th.

Eric Young vs Kon

Young wins after delivering 2 piledrivers to Kon.

My thoughts: decent match. Could’ve been on BTI, honestly. Eric Young needs something new, so I truly hope this story is done for.

Backstage, Lio Rush is talking smack about Chris Sabin and coming back for the X Division Title. Kushida walks up holding his X from winning the Ultimate X match at Slammiversary and says “Victory Road.”

We get a hype video for Jordynne Grace returning to the company at Victory Road.

This is followed by a video message from Deonna Purrazzo, challenging Grace to a match at Victory Road.

-Chris Sabin (w/Alex Shelley) vs Zachary Wentz (w/Trey Miguel)

In what was the match of the night, Cheri Sabin pulled it off with a CRADLE SHOCK for the victory after Trey tried to help Wentz cheat by Shelley neutralized Miguel.

My opinion: fantastic match and easily the match of the night. This set up MCMG vs Rascalz at Victory Road for IMPACT Tag Team Titles.

We go to a video of ABC talking about being the best tag team in the world and how the Rascalz are just keeping the titles warm for them. Both men get interrupted by the Good Hands.

Skyler says they have no affiliation with the Rascalz, and Bey says he doesn’t believe it.

We go to the ring where the Digital Media Champion, Kenny King, is bashing Toronto. Tommy Dreamer makes his way out and says he’s tired of King and these young guys not taking advice from veterans. They could learn a lot. He suggests a title versus career match since Tommy is from the White Plains, New York area.

Subculture approaches Director of Authority Santino Marella about their contractual rematch. He said that he can get them some tag team action, but he already booked The Rascalz defending their IMPACT Tag Team Titles against the Motor City Machine Guns at Victory Road.

Sami & Rich Swann walk up and Santino books that match for next week.

Joe Hendry and Yuya Uemura walk up and say that they need a title shot as well. Santino says they need to work their way up the ladder to get a shot.

We get a video of Gail Kim from from the day before where she announced that she will be returning to the ring for one more match at IMPACT1000.

We get a pre-taped Maclin video where he talks about Josh Alexander. He says everybody made a big deal about Josh’s return, but now he’s back too and he was watching the landscape while he was recovering from injury. He’s coming for Josh at Victory Road.

-Frankie Kazarian/Jake Something/IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Sanada vs Eddie Edwards/Moose/Brian Myers

The team of Kazarian, Jake, and Sanada picked up the victory after Jake hit Myers with INTO THE VOID and then scored the pinfall on him.

My opinion: I love that they’re legitimately building Jake as a threat. Even when he lost to Sanada at Emergence, he still looked great in the match agains the IWGP Heavyweight Champion. I hope this keeps up and that Jake gets a legit run with a title soon.

Overall show: real good show. Great build to Victory Road in one night.

PWinsider reported a few days ago that the company will be getting some major production overhauls over the next few months. These tapings looked much better than Emergence did the night before.
