MJF Defeats Adam Cole To Retain AEW World Championship In The Main Event Of All In

The main event in Wembley Stadium did not disappoint a single fan and instead left everyone shocked.

Earlier in the night, MJF and Adam Cole defeated Aussie Open on Zero Hour to become the new ROH Tag Team Champions, but in the main event, they went toe-to-toe against each other to see who is the face of the company and who could walk out with the AEW World Championship.

MJF has been the world champion of AEW since winning it from Jon Moxley on November 19, 2022, at Full Gear. Since then he has successfully defended it against Ricky Starks, Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, and Jack Perry before beginning a feud in June with Adam Cole.

On the July 5 episode of Dynamite, MJF and Cole were teamed together to participate in a tournament to receive an AEW World Tag Team Championship match on the July 29, 2023, episode of Collision. They won the tournament, defeating Daniel Garcia and Guevara in the finals before losing to FTR for the AEW Tag Team championships.

MJF promised Cole a match for the title and it was granted for All In, two best friends having to become opponents who desire to prove they are better than the other and walk away as the world champion.

Throughout the match, MJF couldn’t put his best friend through the worst pain he could think of as he did to previous opponents. He was unable to tombstone piledriver Cole onto the announcers’ table and faced multiple moments where a new champion was about to be crowned at the end of the night.

Despite wanting a clear winner, both men would pin each other which resulted in a draw until MJF demanded they go until sudden death in Wembley Stadium.

In the end after multiple Panama Sunrises, even on the referee and cheating tactics against each other, including interference from Roderick Strong, it would be MJF who won from a cradle pin to retain the AEW World Championship in the main event of All In.
