John Cena made a highly-anticipated comeback and was visibly emotional upon hearing the cheers from the live audience on an episode of RAW earlier this year in March. He decimated Austin Theory on the mic and set up his WrestleMania 39 match with Theory.
That wasn’t all. Cena went on to surprise the crowd by inviting Cody Rhodes to the ring, which was met with a deafening roar of applause from the fans. The two embraced on the entrance stage as the crowd cheered on in excitement.
Rhodes took part in an ‘AMA‘ (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit to promote his new Peacock documentary, American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes. Rhodes would be asked about a potential match up with John Cena, something Rhodes revealed he has asked for in the past.
“I asked John if he does one more…to consider that match. If not though, I’m blessed to have been under his learning tree and shared a ring with him in the past”

We will have to wait and see if Rhodes will be able to get his match with Cena in the future.
