Eric Bischoff Says It Was A Healthy Decision For The Young Bucks To Remain With AEW

Eric Bischoff discusses The Young Bucks’ recent re-signing with All Elite Wrestling.

The Bucks re-signed to the promotion alongside Kenny Omega and Hangman Page last week, confirming that they would remain a part of the company they helped build from the ground up.

Speaking on Strictly Business, Bischoff discussed the decision for The Young Bucks to remain with All Elite Wrestling.

“Look, for some, if you’re [anywhere from your] 20’s to early 30’s and you don’t have a family, you don’t have a meaningful relationship that you’re concerned about, and you’re having the time of your life and you’re performing and traveling the world, an opportunity to work 300 days a year is a wonderful opportunity. I don’t know the Young Bucks at all, what I have heard is that they’re very family-oriented individuals and if that’s true, and I believe it to be, I think that’s a fantastic decision on their part because they’re prioritizing [family]. Look, it’s not like they’re not making a lot of money, let’s make that clear. They’re probably both well into seven figures. I don’t know what the live event schedule is for AEW, I don’t know if it’s been published, I don’t know if anybody knows, but what are they going to do? A 100 live events a year, maybe?”

“That’s a healthy decision because there is a less chance they’re going to get hurt. Less times you are in the ring, no matter how good you are or what kind of condition [you’re in], the less times you’re in the ring, the less of a chance you have to get injured. That could derail your career, or just accumulate injuries over time that will stack up and matter once you hit 45 or 50, especially the style of wrestling they do. So I think taking perhaps less money for certain less wear and tear and to be able to spend time with your family and be there for those important moments. Hats off to them, good decision,”

The Young Bucks are currently scheduled to face off with The Hardy’s in a Double Or Nothing 2022 rematch on this week’s AEW Dynamite.

We will have to wait and see if they can capture some momentum towards a possible world tag team title shot then.
