Roxanne Perez Says Losing The NXT Women’s Title Led To Her Aggressive Side Coming Out

Roxanne Perez discusses where her recent aggressiveness has come from.

The former NXT Women’s Champion has had a long road to NXT The Great American Bash this weekend. Since losing the NXT Women’s Championship months ago, she has had a slight edge to her character. Recently, she has taken the fight to rival Blair Davenport, even beating Blair’s ass in a dollar store on NXT.

The two women are currently scheduled to battle in a Weapons Wild match this Sunday.

In a new interview with the Sports Guys Talk Wrestling podcast, Perez talked about how losing the NXT women’s title has led to the more aggressive side of her character showing its face.

When I first got here, I was just very happy to be here. I knew who I was on the independent scene, but I was really trying to find who I was in the WWE. I think that I realized that people think I’m an easy target, regardless of the things that I’ve been able to accomplish. So I think finding that aggression in me, and I think losing the NXT Women’s Championship really triggered that aggression. The fact that Blair Davenport keeps poking at me, thinking I’m not going to retaliate, thinking I’m just this nice little girl, well something is coming for her this Sunday.”

We will have to wait and see if Perez will be able to take out Davenport in their stipulation match later this weekend.
