Fuego Del Sol Recalls Juventud Guerrera Hitting Someone With An Elbow Drop While They Were Dozing Off In A Hotel

Talking about his past with Juventud Guerrera, Fuego Del Sol.

Despite being 31 years into his pro wrestling career, Guerrera, who is regarded by many as a pro wrestling great, is still active on the indie scene.

Guerrera and Fuego Del Sol engaged in a number of matches on the independent circuit in 2019. Del Sol recently discussed how he came to be pitted against Guerrera several times in an interview with Fightful.

“I went to college in Oklahoma. I won a National title at a college here in Oklahoma playing soccer. After I wrapped up my college career, I started wrestling here a lot. It was a company called World Class Revolution. I traveled around and they brought in a lot of great names for me to wrestle. I remember wrestling Ricochet early on in my career in a four-way. Matt Sydal in a triple threat. There was just so many names. Luckily I got to have a trio of matches with Juventud Guerrera. It was incredible.”

Del Sol continued by praising Guerrera for being enjoyable to work with while also pointing out that he enjoys being active at night.

“You hear stories about Juvie. You never know which Juvie is gonna show up is what they say. But he was so fun to work. He always had so many ideas. The first two matches were incredible. I fell for them and it was back and forth. I felt like Rey Mysterio in ’96. We just came up with so many fun, unique sequences and he was pushing me to be better. But then I remember the last time we worked, we did a three day loop of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Juventud gives his all in the ring, but he also gives his all in the night life as well. I remember it was the Saturday night of this three day loop and I remember they all went out. There’s a video circulating of Juvie that once they made it back to the hotel, a guy had crashed on one of the hotel rooms and it was two queens in the room and Juvie, in all of his Juvie glory, definitely had a few that night and got up on one of the beds and they got a video of him jumping and hitting the craziest elbow on this sleeping wrestler to wake him up. It was insane. It was so funny.”

Del Sol concluded by saying that, rather than being a very good match, his third encounter with Guerrera was more of a nice time.

“I remember the next day him being very hung over. I was like, ‘Juvie, we don’t have to do anything today in this match if you don’t want to do anything.’ He was like, ‘Brother, we still want to do some ideas.’ We got out there and slowly, but surely, he was like, ‘Juvie Driver, brother, we gotta go.’ So he hit it and got out of there. So two out of three great Juvie matches and one extremely fun Juvie experience. I got to experience what other people have experienced with Juvie. So all the love. I’d wrestle him a million times. He’s still killing it in his 40s. So shout out to Juvie.”
