Becky Lynch Looks Back On Separating Her Shoulder At SummerSlam 2022 And Her Recovery

Becky Lynch looks back on separating her shoulder while competing at SummerSlam 2022.

At the event, Lynch would once again challenge Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship in a rematch of their encounter at WrestleMania 38. The match was every bit as hard hitting as their first encounter, with Lynch suffering a separated shoulder in the match.

Speaking with Cosmopolitan UK, Lynch was asked to name the worst move that went wrong in the ring and Lynch chose the spot where she separated her shoulder in the previously mentioned match with Belair.

“The worst move that went wrong in the ring was at my expense. It was a Glam Slam from Bianca Belair onto me last SummerSlam. I ended up separating my shoulder, and I was out for four months. So that would probably be the worst, which, touch wood, we’re doing well,”

“Coming back from an injury was more mental than physical because I hadn’t ever had an injury when I was in WWE that took me out for a substantial amount of time, and now I was out for four months. Especially when it initially happened, I had trouble picking up my daughter, and she didn’t understand what was going on. So it kind of messed with my head a little bit in terms of, ‘I don’t want to get hurt,’ and so for the first time ever in my career, I was scared of getting hurt, and I’d never had that before. So, trying to figure out how to overcome that was a bit of an adjustment,”

Lynch would return four months later as part of team Belair in the War Games match against team Damage CTRL.

Lynch recently spoke about her creative process within WWE as of late.
