Eddie Edwards Talks Alex Shelley’s World Title Win: “All Is Right In The World”

Alex Shelley finally won the IMPACT World Title for the first time in his 20 year TNA/IMPACT Wrestling career when he defeated Steve Maclin at Against All Odds on June 9th.

Shelley isn’t the only one who’s happy about it. Some of his fellow IMPACT talent are thrilled for Alex. One of them is Eddie Edwards.

During a recent interview with SP3 for Tru Heel Heat, Eddie Edwards said that seeing Alex Shelley on top of IMPACT Wrestling makes it feel like everything is right in the world.

“Yeah, you know, it makes things seem like all is right in the world type of thing where a guy can start, you know, you can see somebody’s journey from start to getting that world title. We’ve all been there whether it’s in wrestling, whether it’s in life, whether it’s a job that you have, we’ve all started somewhere, and we’ve always, people always want more. Sometimes unfortunately, it doesn’t come to fruition, but with Shelley, he put in work like you’ve never seen. Everybody’s seen the work that he’s put in, the way he’s elevated his game, the way he’s in insane shape now. You know, he thinks the way that he helps out the locker room, helps out the young guys, which I see each and every time I’m there. He’s in the ring training guys and girls and showing them things in that ring because he loves professional wrestling, and he loves IMPACT Wrestling. So to see him finally achieve that goal, I love it. Whether it’s an underdog story or not, I love to see people get what they deserve, and that is what Alex Shelley deserves,” said Eddie.

Eddie Edwards has been back and forth with Frankie Kazarian as of late, either with or against him, but does show mutual respect since they’re both former trainees of Killer Kowalski.

Eddie faced off against Kazarian at Against All Odds on June 9th, losing to Frankie in that match.

Last Thursday, both men teamed up to take on Steve Maclin & Bully Ray. The pair lost after Eddie Edwards attempted to super kick Maclin, but nailed his partner instead when Maclin ducked. Bully & Maclin doubled teamed Kazarian for the victory.

Eddie is slated to take on IMPACT Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry tomorrow night with his title on the line as part of the Australia Down Under Tour.

This will be Eddie’s first opportunity at the Digital Media Title since its inception in 2021.
