In the opening round of the Owen Hart Cup, Satoshi Kojima took on CM Punk in an intense battle.
From even before his music hit, CM Punk was being booed relentlessly by the crowd. Despite the battle that was to ensue, the crowd would not fail to boo Punk. The pair would hit each other with everything but the kitchen sink in their match, with some incredibly stiff shots being thrown around, with Kojima landing an incredibly precise elbow drop low on Punk.
For a lot of the match, Punk would be distracted by the booing. In the end, Punk would hit the Go To Sleep on the legend to capture the victory and a spot in the semi finals.
