Kaito Kiyomiya has been a major star for Pro Wrestling NOAH for many years and he’s been instrumental in the continued rise of popularity that the promotion has been experiencing.
In July, Kiyomiya will be making his NJPW G1 Climax debut and will be looking to bring more attention to Pro Wrestling NOAH. Kiyomya recently spoke Wrestle Inn to discuss the upcoming G1 Climax 33 as well as Kazuchika Okada and Kenoh.
Kiyomiya was asked about representing NOAH in the G1 Climax 33:
I wanted to spread the name of “Kaito Kiyomiya” and “NOAH” to all wrestling fans by becoming a main character in G1.
Kiyomiya was asked about being in the A Block and who he is looking forward to getting in the ring with at G1 Climax 33:
There are many wrestlers of the same generation, but they are all enemies. I am the main character. On July 25th at Korakuen Hall, I will also be in the leading role of New Japan Pro-Wrestling in my match against IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA.
Kiyomiya explained his brutal kick to the face of Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 17 back in January:
I was very emotional. Even before the match started, I felt that I wasn’t being wrestled against, like I didn’t exist. And even after the match started, I was being provoked, so by the time I realized it, my body was moving.
Kiyomiya was also asked about his classic match in January 2023 with Kenoh at Nippon Budokan in which he defended and retained the GHC Heavyweight Championship:
It was the toughest fight I’ve ever had. However, in order to move forward, I couldn’t afford to lose. I will prove myself in my upcoming matches.
Kaito Kiyomiya also expressed his gratitude to his international fans:
