Gunther Isn’t Interested In Merging The Intercontinental Championship With The World Heavyweight Championship

Gunther does not want to merge the Intercontinental Championship with Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweigth Championship.

While Gunther has been Intercontinental Champion for over a year now, Rollins only recently captured the brand new World Heavyweight Championship at Night Of Champions 2023 last month.

Speaking with Steve Fall on Ten Count, Gunther revealed he is not interested in a match against Seth Rollins with both their respective titles on the line.

“If I’m still the Intercontinental Champion, which I’m planning to be, I do not think so actually,” Gunther said when asked if he’d be interested in facing Seth Rollins. “The new World Heavyweight Championship just got introduced, so I think there is no interest by anyone to merge that again with another title, which [a match between the two] kind of automatically would do. I think we’re in two different divisions right now when it comes to that, but down the line, everything is possible, I would say.”

At present, it appears Gunther is heading to a one on one clash with Matt Riddle, while Rollins will defend the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Money In The Bank against Finn Balor.
